OLLI Lecture Series:

FALL, 2017

Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, 3:30 p.m.

The Life of Stars
Presenter: Helene Flohic, Assistant Professor Physics

Stars are born and die on very long timescales, but using observations of star clusters and stellar evolution models, astrophysicists are able to understand the different stages of a star’s life. From its birth in a stellar nursery to its “midlife crisis” and to its death in a fiery (or failed) explosion, Helene Flohic will lead a conversation about the tools used by astrophysicists to understand stellar evolution. We will also learn how past generations of stars are crucial to life itself.

Registration is required. Contact the church office or OLLI@Pacific
